Open a sales register export from Tally and try to pivot it by party, or VLOOKUP a ledger total. You can't — the fields aren't on the rows. The date sits only on the header line. Inventory quantity and rate land in the same columns as ledger debit and credit. Sub-totals appear inside the Particulars text. Closing balances sit between transactions, and the header block repeats for every single ledger. It is built to be read on screen, not analysed in a spreadsheet.
